Travel Baseball Coach


Description


The coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading baseball activities for players of various skill levels in a recreational setting. The coach will provide instruction, develop players' skills, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment.



Examples of Duties

 
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate training programs and practice sessions to improve players' baseball skills, including hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
  • Organize and conduct regular team practices and manage team schedules for games and tournaments.
  • Instruct players on the rules and strategies of baseball and promote sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages all players to participate and enjoy the sport.
  • Evaluate players' performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about team schedules, expectations, and any important information.
  • Ensure the safety of all players during practices and games and have knowledge of basic first-aid procedures.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and volunteers as needed.
  • Maintain and inventory team equipment and report any maintenance or replacement needs.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience in baseball, preferably in a recreational or youth setting.
  • Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire players to develop their skills and enjoy the sport.

Working Conditions:



  • This position may require working evenings and weekends to accommodate practice and game schedules.
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
